History of the festival

In 1994, during a jazz show at the Jardins de la République (now called de la République provincial park), the artists on stage asked the crowd if they would like to see a Jazz and Blues festival in the Madawaska region so that the residents could discover this style of music and that passionates could enjoy it. The crowd was unanimous, they wanted a Jazz and blues Festival.

That's how we held our very first edition of the Edmundston Jazz and Blues Festival in 1995.

The Edmundston Jazz & Blues festival is a not for profit organizations that develops, organizes and promotes  concerts and musical events in relation to the type of music known as "jazz and blues" music.  Our festival is a family festival that attracts people of all ages.

Our vision is to make our programming accessible to as many people as possible in our community.  Therefore, we include in our programming musical entertainment in schools, regional hospital visits and in the surrounding shops.  We are also trying to include animation for preschoolers as day care and nursery school.
